Date: August 4, 2013Liturgical Day: The Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost
abundant living not consumed by possessions grounded in God’s grace
Summary: Jesus warns us to, "Be on our guard against all kinds of greed; for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of possessions." We live in a time of unprecedented abundance. Two ways to "guard against all kinds of greed" are to practice financial generosity and to be involved in community service. We trust that by doing so, we can become "rich towards God."
