Sermon; The 6th Sunday after the Epiphany: "Comfort and Affliction"

Date: February 17, 2019
Liturgical Day: The Sixth Sunday after the Epiphany; Year C

Surrounded by a crowd that includes those who are poor, hungry, grief stricken and opposed… Jesus speaks words of comfort and hope. Aware, also, of those who are caught up in the quest for wealth, happiness and acceptance… Jesus speaks words of warning. He models for us a ministry that comforts the afflicted and afflicts the comfortable. How do we live this out, with him, today, at Saint Peter, and in our individual lives of discipleship?
