Sermon; The Tenth Sunday after Pentecost: "A House United"
Date: August 18, 2019
Liturgical Day: The Tenth Sunday after Pentecost (Proper 15C)
Many of us are inspired by God’s grace and peace, but Jesus indicates that conflict and division will arise when we strive to be faithful to God. In fact, there are times when we may perceive the call to go in directions that will be both pleasing to some and troubling to others. In a time when the Christian Church is experiencing significant changes, congregations that thrive in years to come will need supporters who have the faith and courage to make hard decisions, and to work through conflict and division. And so we pray both for the wisdom to do so, and the commitment to do so together!
